MAXMUR

The hunger strike launched in the Martyr Rustem Cudi (Maxmur) Refugee Camp continues on day 52.

The 18th group made up of 9 men and 11 women took over the hunger strike following a statement issued today.

Activist Ihsan Celi said the Kurdish people need to speak up against the isolation and added: “We must speak up everywhere. We need a great resistance for the freedom of the Kurdish people. We must resist the isolation everywhere. The CPT and human rights organizations should fulfill their duty at once and take action against the isolation.”

Meanwhile, Ishtar Assembly member Fadile Tok has been on an indefinite non-alternating hunger strike since January 20, making today her 17th day.

HEWLER

The hunger strike launched by the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Hewler Representation Office continues on day 77. The 39th group has taken over the hunger strike as party representatives and the public continue to visit.

HDP Southern Kurdistan Representation Office Hesen Eris saluted Leyla Guven and said: “We must take action before the hunger strikers get much worse. The isolation must end so the activists aren’t martyred.”

Mam Hadi, father of Basur Soran who was martyred in Afrin, was among the visitors to the hunger strike.
