The police attacked prisoners’ mothers who were to march to the Bakirkoy Prison and detained several people.

The vigil in front of the Bakirkoy Prison by families whose children are on a hunger strike protesting the isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan was prevented again. Families gathere by the E-5 highway wanted to march to the prison but were stopped by the police, who detained several people alleging that the protest was banned.

The police stopped Mesopotamia Agency reporter Irfan Tunccelik from recording footage during the detentions, and then detained Tunccelik himself.

The names of known detainees are: Huri Tayfur, Sacide Tayfur, Emine Kaya, Vetha Bingol, Naciye Karabas, Asuman Cesme, Yeter Seyhan, Gulsum Dag, Emine Saruhan and Guler and Beyaz whose last names could not be determined.
