A hunger strike was launched in Saratov, in the district of Krasnikut in the Russian Federation to demand the lifting of the isolation regime imposed on Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
Under the leadership of the Kurdish Cultural Autonomy, a hunger strike action was launched in Krasnikut, Russia to demand the freedom of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan.
The hunger strike has been undertaken by 15 people in the Kurdish Cultural Autonomy building. Speaking on behalf of the activists, President of the association, Ramadan Budakov said: “To remove the isolation imposed on our Leader and fight for his freedom is the duty of all honorable Kurds.”
Budakov added: “We have reclaimed our identity thanks to our Leader and thanks to him we have learned to fight on our own. The isolation imposed on our Leader is the isolation imposed on millions of Kurds. Kurds should step up the struggle even further to end this isolation.”
Other activists who participated in the hunger strike also called for an end to isolation. Hunger strike actions in Turkish prisons and in Europe were also commended.
